Joshua = Yeshua
Open full size ↑

Moses adds the divine name יָהּ to Hoshea's name — making him יְהוֹשֻׁעַ, the first Yeshua, same name as the angel gives in Matthew 1:21. Triple-1.0 percentile rank — strongest single signal in the planned 20-poster series. Inside baseline 0: שֵׁם name + חַי life. מְנוּחָה rest baseline 42 (extremely rare — Hebrews 4 typology). The first Yeshua brought them into the land. The second brings them into the rest.

Verse — surface text

Numbers 13:16 (KJV): "These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua."

The first man in Scripture named Yeshua. Hebrew יְהוֹשֻׁעַ is the long form; יֵשׁוּעַ is the abbreviated. Same name. Same meaning: "YHWH saves."

The name change

Moses takes a man named הוֹשֵׁעַ (Hoshea — "he saves") and prepends the divine name יָהּ to make him יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (Yehoshua — "YHWH saves"). That is the same name the angel gives in Matthew 1:21: "thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

The finding — Triple-1.0 percentile rank

The strongest single signal of any verse in the planned 20-poster series.

grid_p = 0 · grid_words = 8 · pairs_p = 0.9799 · pairs_at_verse = 11 of 17 — all three percentile ranks 1.0.

Encompasses at extreme rarity:

Both name forms encoded: הוֹשֵׁעַ Hoshea (skip −115) and יְהוֹשֻׁעַ Yehoshua (in the grid).
